Financial Analysis of DBMS in Health and Social Care Organizations in Essay
Financial Analysis of DBMS in Health and Social Care Organizations in Hong Kong - Essay Example This research paper studies the options available for database management system for Health and Social Care Organizations. One improvement needed is the proper communication between the public and private health sectors of Hong Kong. There is an actual need to establish a computer system that has the ability to contain medical records and data about patients. This computer system must be able to deliver or send needed information from one health care facility to another in various locations where it is needed. This would reduce waiting time and expenses on the part of the patients, and would improve the efficiency of service provided by medical practitioners. In relation to the above-mentioned need, after Hong Kongââ¬â¢s transition over to the Chinese mainland, there have been some proposed reforms on its health care system. At present Hong Kongââ¬â¢s public healthcare sector is subsidized by the government. And since it is supported by one of the lowest tax regimes currently existing in the world, the Hong Kong government is giving good consideration on having revamps implemented on the overhaul of its entire health care system. Reforms are needed in order to continue the provision of an effective health care program (Taylor, n.d.) To be able to get ready for such a change, the clinic where I am currently employed needs to have an updated computer that is internet enabled, to facilitate effective communication and information exchange. Hong Kongââ¬â¢s current health care system is made up of two sectors, the public sector, and the private sector. The public healthcare sector is managed by the Department of Health and the Hospital Authority. The Department of Health provides preventive and outpatient services.

With the aim to evaluate the most effective form of marketing to the 16-25 year-olds, this study was undertaken. Research aims and objectives were laid out and after extensive literature review, qualitative secondary data was gathered and analysed to arrive at the outcome of the study. The study finds that this age group is dynamic, on the move, engages in multitasking and has moved away from the traditional forms of media consumption. They are technically savvy and rely more on user reviews than marketer claims through advertisements. Both iPhone and Nike has been trying to develop value-proposition for their customers but Nike clearly has a robust strategy in place that has given it edge over competitors. Appleââ¬â¢s iPhone, on the other hand, lags behind due to its strategy to steer clear of social media. It is effective marketing that has enabled Apple to venture into diversified products such as iPod and Macbook successfully. A sound marketing strategy enables an organization to leverage its strength and capitalize on opportunities existing in the market (Ferrel, 2011, p1). Organizations need to develop and plan a systematic process for developing customer-oriented marketing strategies and marketing plans suitable to its external and internal environment. The function ââ¬Ëmarketingââ¬â¢ has successfully migrated from being a mere functional discipline to being a concept of how businesses should be run (Greyser, 1997 cited in Hooley, Piercy & Nicouland, 2009, p3). Marketing Planning - Essay Example Starbucks would essentially adopt a value delivery based distribution strategy that would imply that the company adds value in each of the stages of distribution (Hooley & Graham, 2008, p.6). Starbucks would also try to undertake a vertical backward integration that would help the company reduce the cost leakage and would also enable greater value creation. This would help generate cost advantage that could be passed on to the customers as price discounts. Moreover, a backward integration would also enable the Starbucks to generate greater value in the finished product in the form of better quality standards as it would enable the firm to have greater control over the supply chain increasing its bargaining power to a considerable extent. This would also help the company to create entry barriers for new entrants. In addition to pricing and distribution marketing communications also plays a major role in the success of a product in the market. Starbucks would adopt an integrated market ing communication strategy that would include using multiple channels of communication. Considering the fact that Starbucks has its operation spread around diverse areas of the globe hence a ââ¬Ëglocalisationââ¬â¢ strategy of thinking globally and acting locally would be followed by the company across its entire line of business. This would imply that the company would essentially take into account the local culture and sentiments of the target market while implementing the marketing communication strategy.... Considering the fact that Starbucks has its operation spread around diverse areas of the globe hence a ââ¬Ëglocalisationââ¬â¢ strategy of thinking globally and acting locally would be followed by the company across its entire line of business. This would imply that the company would essentially take into account the local culture and sentiments of the target market while implementing the marketing communication strategy (Carey, 2007, p.143). New Product Launch New product development includes a number of steps beginning from idea generation, idea screening, evaluation, prototype launch, final screening and actual launch (Waters, 2006, p.278). A new product to be launched by Starbucks would be a smoothie that would be a blend of coffee and chocolates. The product would come up with fruit flavours that would essentially include local fruits as well as seasonal fruits. The new product would be positioned as a drink with a nutritional value that would also have a good taste and nut ritional value. The product would be targeted at the younger age group of 15-45 years. The company would launch this new product simultaneously across all the markets that are being currently served by the company. In this regard the company would add local tastes and flavours that would help the company easily popularise the product. This would be in line with the ââ¬Ëglocalisationââ¬â¢ strategy of thinking globally and acting locally (Hamel, 2001, p.100). Starbucks would adopt an effective integrated marketing communication strategy that would essentially use different media sources including the print as well as electronic media. Billboards and hoardings would be also used to promote the new product. In addition attractive initial discount

Ethno Nationalist Terrorism Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words - 1
Ethno Nationalist Terrorism - Essay Example The main Palestine groups employing terrorism as a means of achieving their goals and strategic objectives in the region currently include Hamas, most notably its military wing ââ¬â Al-Qassam Brigades ââ¬â and Fatahââ¬â¢s Al-Aqsa Martyrsââ¬â¢ Brigades. The Israeli Government counter-terrorist organizational framework includes the Israeli Police, ISA, Mossad and IDF (Ganor 2005). International human rights organizations, like Amnesty International for instance, blame IDF for a number of war crimes and violations of human rights during their offensives in the Gaza Strip (Amnesty International, 2015). Inasmuch as the primary method of attacks employed by Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups is rocket-firing mainly into Israel, the range of targets is vast, including civilians, army and police personnel as well as infrastructure and build environment. According to IDF, civilian and public buildings, including schools and hospitals are used by Hamas as command centers and/or weapons depots (Amnesty International, 2015). Being aimed at the achievement of the main political goals, these attacks are commonly associated with the Palestinian grievances and discontent (see Oberschall, 2004). A significant attempt at conflict resolution, besides the peace treaties between Israel and Egypt in 1979, and Israel and Jordan in1994, was the so-called Oslo Accord (Gelvin, 2014). Despite the transfer of control over the Gaza Strip and West Bank to autonomous Palestinian rule, thus being considered an unprecedented breakthrough, the Oslo Accord failed to achieve both the fundamental goal of permanently appeasing the region and creating an independent Palestinian state (Selby, 2003). As Oberschall (2004) points out, denying political opportunity, safe bases for terrorist operations, and alleviation of poverty and socio-economic inequities would
Being In Nature Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Being In Nature - Essay Example So, I decided to look at the nature through lens of a system of beliefs that is not common for me and gain first hand experience. This paper will provide an accurate account of the way I perceived the nature from the point of view of Chinese folk religions. First of all, it must be noted that while sitting on the bank of the river, I used my imagination to think that everything that is around me may be home for a particular deity, as is proposed by Chinese folk religion (Taylor 299). I tried to envision how gods could dwell in the trees or in the rocks. I also took a close look at the river, thinking about it not as a huge amount of water that was flowing from an elevated platform towards the ocean, but some kind of a miracle. I thought that if I try hard enough I will be able to image the god of the river and maybe interact with it. In addition to that, while sitting on the bank, I felt that I was ready for some fantastic actions. Indeed, I thought that is the surrounding area is full of different deities that some interesting might happen to me as well. That is why I looked at the forest and at the river, hoping that I will be able to communicate with the gods that live there and they might possibly give me a quest to complete. There is no doubt in the fact that if a person perceives the world in this way, than the latter becomes a rather interesting place to live in. Finally, I looked at the nature that was around me and felt that there is much more than a simple set of natural objects. I felt that under certain conditions, a person might feel that the place were I was sitting is able to tell a story. I think that it would not be an exaggeration that this was as close as I have ever been to understanding a different worldview. In spite of the fact that I knew that there would not be a fancy half transparent figure floating in the air dressed in ancient Chinese clothes, I felt that there is truly something more to the scenery. In other

Fostering Ethical Behavior Essay Example for Free
Fostering Ethical Behavior Essay Ethical conduct in todayââ¬â¢s work environment is extremely important as it not only affects the climate of the workplace but can also make a major impact on the output of the employees who work for you. As Kreitner and Kinicki state, ââ¬Å"Improving workplace ethics is not just a nice thing to do; it also can have a positive impact on the bottom lineâ⬠(Organizational Behavior, 2009, p. 25). But the discussion on how to foster more ethical conduct can oftentimes be a tricky question to answer. First, my firm belief is that you have to start from the top of an organization and work down. If a CEO or upper level manager acts unethically in his/her practices then how can you expect another employee to not react in the same manner? ââ¬Å"Managers are potent role models whose habits and actual behavior send clear signals about the importance of ethical conduct. Ethical behavior is a top-to-bottom propositionâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (Organizational Behavior, 2009, p. 25). Secondly, an organization should maintain a strong and respected code of ethics that all employees would be required to adhere, train and reinforce in the workplace. Unethical behavior to get ahead can be a poison to any organization. ââ¬Å"Behavior that is reinforced tends to be repeated, whereas behavior that is not reinforced tends to disappear. Ethical conduct too often is ignored or even punished while unethical behavior is rewarded. â⬠(Organizational Behavior, 2009, p. 25). It should be the number one goal of any top management to foster a working environment where ethical behavior is rewarded and I feel that leading by example from the top down will result in a positive outcome in the workplace.
